Jewellery Care Tips

Jewellery are our most valuable and favorite accessories. Each one is unique and destined to have longevity, whether it is a family heritage or a new purchase. To maintain their shine and beauty, it is important to know and understand how to take care of and protect them.

  • Always apply body and neck cream, hairspray and perfumes with a few minutes difference before wearing your jewellery.
  • When taking off your jewellery, wipe each piece with a soft clean cloth to remove any sweat or dust.
  • Always store your jewellery in jewel cases or fabric-lined boxes, in dry /humid free places.
  • Never place jewellery together in the same jewel case, to prevent scratches.
  • Never wear jewellery when doing physical work or exercise.
  • It is recommended not to expose jewellery to swimming pool chlorine.
  • Never sleep wearing jewellery.

  • Use only a soft brush (ideally an old toothbrush) and clean very carefully the jewellery with warm water to remove dirt or particles.
  • If you want to clean a diamond jewel with no mirrors on the settings, you can use a soft brush dipped in warm water with liquid dish soap and a bit of baking soda. Then rinse under running water.
  • If you want to clean a jewel with precious or semi-precious stones and you are not familiar with the specific cleaning requirements, you should address to a professional.
  • Never expose pearl jewellery to detergent or other chemicals, only rinse under running water and wipe with a clean soft cloth.
  • Heavily tarnished jewellery should be cleaned professionally to avoid causing any damage.

  • Clean and have your jewellery checked by a professional, at least once a year, for worn prongs, loose fastenings and stones checked.
  • Have your white gold jewellery replated, the yellow and rose gold jewelries repolished, so as to maintain the original condition.
  • Have your pearl necklaces threaded with fresh strand at least once every five years, with knots between the pearls.
